I think travel is something that slows down the rush of our ordinary existence and reminds us just how special and irreplaceable every moment is. So for me travel has always held a special, almost sacred place in my life experience. My real globetrotting started at seventeen with my first solo trip to Spain to study. I became so hooked on the experience and being immersed in a new culture that I chose a career where travel was an integral part of the job.
I’ve often heard people talk of travel as an “escape” but for me it has been more of an inward journey where the experiences I’ve had became a way to discover new things about myself. With each trip I have somehow redefined my life. There truly is something magical about immersing yourself in another country, culture, their traditions and language that forces you to open up to a whole new world of possibilities.

Over the past 25 plus years my television production career helped satiate my appetite for travel. Worldwide assignments became gifts that revealed to me the unique aspects of life hidden in the far the corners of the earth. When my daughter was born she began flying before she could walk and has been my constant companion through all of it. What a blessing it has been for me to share the world with her.
But from the West Coast to the Far East of all the varied destinations I’ve experienced Spain and Portugal still remain my “Number Ones”. Their rich cultures, warm people and breath taking vistas remain unsurpassed in my estimation. They are such special places with so much to offer that I wanted to share it with the world. That appreciation for the unique charm of these places and its people is what led to the genesis of Emporda’ Tours.
I want to support a community of like minded travel enthusiasts that share the same appreciation of authentic travel experiences that I do. Adventurers with a passion for getting out of the “sameness” of our franchised existence to seek out old world charm that, though increasingly rare, can still be found by the determined few who want to live life to the fullest and discover the multifaceted beauty still available in the hidden gems of the world.
